Abstract
Introduction :Abnormalities in the work of insulin in the pancreas can result in a condition where blood sugar levels increase and can pose a risk of macrovascular and microvascular damage so that sufferers feel uncomfortable with their body. Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia occurring due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both.
Method :This study used a case review method with a nursing care approach taking cases of diabetic ulcer patients pre and post wound care who were treated in hospital. The data collection method is by taking cases through identification, interpreting and analyzing diagnoses, interventions, and evaluations during treatment. The data collection technique uses case review.
Results and Discussion :Based on data analysis, the same preoperative nursing problems were obtained, namely acute pain, ineffective peripheral perfusion, impaired skin integrity, impaired physical mobility and risk of infection. Nursing problems that differ between patients are in the patient Mrs. S is impaired skin/tissue integrity, acute pain, and instability of blood glucose levels
Conclusions and recommendations :After 4 days of treatment, the nursing problem of impaired skin integrity improved quite a bit after the wound was treated in combination with honey, the wound results improved as indicated by the red/pink base color of the wound which indicated the wound was in a good granulation stage. The acute pain decreased after the breathing relaxation technique was carried out. depth and instability of blood glucose levels improves.
