Abstract
Background : Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by increased glucose levels. The increase in diabetes mellitus is caused by genetic factors, obesity, sudden lifestyle changes, wrong diet, non-compliance with taking medication, lack of exercise, age, smoking and stress (Nursucita & Handayani, 2021) The aim of this nurse's final scientific work is to provide leg exercises to Mrs. Y to reduce blood glucose levels.
Method : The research method used is a qualitative descriptive analysis technique by focusing attention on descriptive data processing which aims to solve problems. The data obtained comes from interviews, observation and documentation.
Result : The results of the assessment showed 2 nursing diagnoses, namely unstable blood glucose levels related to pancreatic dysfunction and health behavior that tends to be risky related to inadequate social support. The nursing plan implemented is hyperglycemia management and health behavior education
Conclusion : Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder in which an inability to oxidize carbohydrates is found, due to disturbances in the normal insulin mechanism, causing hyperglycemia which can be reduced by administering drugs and non-pharmacological treatment such as routine metabolic control, vascular control, ulcer evaluation, foot care. as well as other exercise measures such as leg exercises. Foot exercises are an activity or physical exercise carried out by diabetes mellitus patients using the technique of moving their feet with the aim of controlling blood sugar levels.
