Abstract
Background:Pleural effusion is one of the respiratory system disorders that threatens life safety. Pleural effusion is a condition where there is a buildup of fluid in the pleura in the form of transudate or exudate. Dyspnea is the most common complaint found in pleural effusion patients. Dyspnea complaints occur in more than 50% of cases of pleural effusion. The purpose of this study is to analyze the combination of high fowler position and balloon blowing in an effort to reduce dyspnea in patients with pleural effusion
Methods: writing the final scientific work of nurses using three methods, namely the observation method, the interview method, the test method on Ny. K at Karsa Husada Batu Hospital. The observation method used is to observe the signs and symptoms of the patient and any changes that occur during the study. interview method by interviewing patients and families regarding the conditions and complaints that are being felt. while the test method used is to measure dyspnea and SPO2 in patients.
Results:The results of this study showed that after the combined intervention of high fowler position and balloon blowing, Mrs. K decreases, respiratory frequency improves, SpO2 increases and the use of accessory respiratory muscles decreases.
