Abstract

The most of learning process is still using a conventional approach such as lecture methode, while the media used is only centered on textbooks, worksheets. SDN 3 Dinoyo Malang has teaching materials, but teachers still lack tools/targets to convey messages contained in teaching materials and stimulate students to take part in learning, therefore researchers develop Pocket book based on local City of Malang as a tool in the learning process.
The purpose of this research is in order to make it easier for teachers to delivery materials and make a student understand it well. For the development Pocket book based on local of Malang city, researchers use the ADDIE model development which consists of several stages, namely: (1) analysis (2) design (3) development (4) implementation (5) evaluation. This study uses the technique of initial and final observation, questionnaire interviews and documentation, the data analysis technique used is qualitative. The trial of the product was at SDN Dinoyo 3 Malang City with 18 students.
The results of this study produce a product media of Pocket book based on local of Malang city. Pocket book media obtained a feasibility percentage validation of material experts 95,83% and validation from learning experts 78,125%. The pre-test score with an average result was 49.61% and the posttest score with an average result of 85.16%, so from the pre-test results to the posttest there was an increase in the average results. As these results indicate that pocket book based on local of Malang city media is based problem based learning is very good and suitable for use in elementary schools.
