The rapid growth of pesantren literature in recent years reflects a significant increase in interest in this phenomenon among literary writers and researchers. Works focusing on pesantren themes, including the novel (Bukan) Cinderella Pesantren by Huren Nahla, have become a central point in contemporary literary discourse. This research aims to explore and analyze the forms of religious values as well as the strategies of internalizing religious values within the novel (Bukan) Cinderella Pesantren by Huren Nahla.
The primary data source for this study is the novel (Bukan) Cinderella Pesantren by Huren Nahla, published by LovRinz Publishing in 2020 and comprising 240 pages. The data obtained consists of excerpts from the novel's narrative units, such as words, phrases, clauses, or sentences related to the research problem, which focuses on the forms and strategies of internalizing religious values. The data collection technique involves close reading or note-taking, wherein the novel is read repeatedly, and significant elements related to the research problem are noted. Data analysis involves three crucial stages: data reduction, data presentation to provide a clear representation for research purposes and an examination of the collected data using a value analysis approach. The conclusion stage involves interpreting the results of the data analysis regarding the employed value analysis theory.
The research findings indicate that the characters in (Bukan) Cinderella Pesantren form solid characters through the acceptance of Islamic boarding school values. The religious values portrayed in Huren Nahla's novel encompass the values of Islamic brotherhood, ukhuwah islamiyah, simplicity, sincerity, discipline, and worship. The internalization strategies for Islamic boarding school values depicted in the novel include role modeling, habituation, and motivation as the primary pillars for instilling religious values. The implications of this research provide in-depth insights into the internalization process of Islamic boarding school values through fiction literature. The research's conclusion serves as a basis for developing more effective educational and literary strategies within the context of Islamic boarding schools, as well as providing a foundation for the cultivation of solid and religious characters within the Islamic boarding school community.
