Abstract

The elderly will experience a decrease in body system function, namely changes in the musculoskeletal system which results in loss of flexibility in the joints, this causes changes in the joints which cause joint pain. Joint pain makes elderly people afraid to move, which can reduce their productivity and reduce their level of physical activity. This study aims to determine the relationship between joint pain and physical activity levels in the elderly. This research uses a correlational descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study were elderly people who were in the Elderly Posyandu at the Dinoyo Community Health Center. The sample taken was 61 respondents who met the criteria. In this study, researchers used GPAQ for physical activity instruments and NRS for joint pain instruments. The data was then analyzed using the Spearman test using SPSS. The results of this research showed that 34 respondents (56%) experienced moderate levels of joint pain and 29 respondents (48%) had moderate levels of physical activity. The significant test shows 0.775 where 0.775 > α0.05 so that H1 is rejected, meaning there is no relationship between joint pain and the level of physical activity in the elderly at the Dinoyo Community Health Center.
