KONSTRUKSI TANDA-TANDA MAKNA KERINDUAN DALAM VIDEO KLIP GALA BUNGA MATAHARI (Analisis Semiotika pada Video Klip Gala Bunga Matahari)

The music video for Gala Bunga Matahari is a work by Sal Priadi, released on August 8, 2024 and has been viewed more than 83 million times on YouTube, demonstrating the audience’s high level of attention and emotional involvement in the song. Through simply composed lyrics, light musical accompaniment, and symbolic video clip visuals, this song conveys universal themes with implicit messages that enable listeners to understand and interpret the meaning of longing in the loss of a loved one. The meaning of longing is not conveyed directly but is constructed through visual representations such as color selection, use of symbols, image composition, as well as narrative flow and characters. Often people do not understand the meaning of longing in this song, even though in the real world, longing becomes suffocating and can be cured if they are met. In a semiotic analysis, the researcher found a problem formulation, namely what is the meaning of longing in the video clip Gala Bunga Matahari by Sal Priadi. In the analysis, an interpretive qualitative approach was used with a critical paradigm. This study uses John Fiske’s semiotic study to uncover the meaning of longing in the video clip Gala Bunga matahari with three levels, the level of reality, the level of representation, and the level of ideology. The results of this study indicate that the meaning of longing in the video clip is not conveyed as sadness due to the loss of a loved one, but rather through is interpreted as a process of deep acceptance.
