Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulties of 4th-grade students at Elementary School in understanding the material on Plant Body Parts due to conventional learning processes and non-contextual teaching materials. The objective of this study is to produce an environment-based Big Book media product that is feasible and effective in increasing student motivation and understanding. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, as well as validation questionnaires from material experts, media experts, and user responses. The results showed that the developed Big Book media qualified as "Very Feasible." This is evidenced by the validation percentage from material experts at 94% and media experts at 85%. The practicality of the media was also demonstrated through positive responses from students at 100% and teacher responses at 85%. Thus, the environment-based Big Book media for the IPAS subject is feasible for use as a learning aid in elementary schools.
