Abstract
Gastritis is one of the most common digestive problems suffered by adults, with a percentage of 76%. Students in early adulthood need to maintain their health, especially in terms of diet, but in fact the level of busyness and a lifestyle that does not pay attention to health means that students do not pay attention to their diet, such as often missing the time that should be used for eating, making them susceptible to gastritis. This research aims to determine the relationship between eating patterns and the incidence of gastritis in nursing students. This research uses a quantitative correlation method with an approach cross sectional study, conducted at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang which was held in November 2023. Data was collected using techniques total sampling and there
were 107 respondents. Data was collected using an Eating Pattern questionnaire and the Gastritis Symptoms questionnaire, the statistical method used is correlation analysis Spearman the results will be declared significant if p<0.05. The results of data analysis in the research were obtained p- value 0.000 and a correlation value (r) of 0.436, which means that there is a significant relationship
between diet and the incidence of gastritis in Nursing students with the strength of the relationship being quite strong, where a person with a good diet is less likely to suffer from gastritis symptoms, conversely if the diet is poor then 0,43 times more likely to develop symptoms of gastritis.
