Abstract
Background: Hospitals are increasingly recognized for their existence in every health service setting, so that providing services cannot be separated from nurses' compliance in every procedure such as wound care. One of the scope of a nurse's duties is to assist the wound healing process through wound care. Wound care is a nursing action that is often carried out in hospitals which, if not carried out according to procedures, will cause clinical infections. Apart from infection, if wound care is not carried out according to procedures, it can cause various complications. Moist wound healing is the latest wound care method that is effective in healing wounds.
Method: This study used a descriptive design which aimed to identify nurses' knowledge about wound care using the moist wound healing method at Surya Medika Hospital, Sumbawa. The total sample for this study was 38 nurses who were taken using a total sampling technique according to the specified inclusion criteria. The data collection technique used a questionnaire which was carried out from August to September 2023.
Results: The research results are presented in the form of narratives and frequency distribution tables. The results of this study showed that 14 respondents (36%) had good knowledge, half of the total respondents, namely 24 respondents (63.2%) had sufficient knowledge, and no respondents had insufficient knowledge. It can be concluded that the respondents' knowledge about wound care using the moist method is quite good because the data shows that the majority of respondents have sufficient knowledge.
Conclusion: The research results show that half of the total respondents (50%) nurses have sufficient knowledge about wound care using the moist wound healing method. It can be concluded that the respondents' knowledge about wound care using the moist method cannot be said to be good because the data shows that the majority of respondents have sufficient knowledge.
