Abstract
Improving the quality of health services is one of the global priorities outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Job rotation, as a human resource management strategy, plays a role in enhancing nurses’ competencies, adaptability, and equitable skill distribution. Nurse productivity is a key factor in supporting the achievement of quality health services; therefore, it is necessary to analyze the relationship between job rotation and productivity.
Objective: To identify the relationship between job rotation and nurse productivity at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang General Hospital.
Methods: This study aim a cross-sectional design with a total sampling technique. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires measuring job rotation and productivity. The relationship between variables was analyzed using the Spearman Rank test.
Results: The identification showed that job rotation was categorized as moderate for 34% of respondents, while nurse productivity was categorized as very high for 48% of respondents. Statistical analysis revealed a strong, positive, and significant relationship between job rotation and nurse productivity, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0,612 and a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: Job rotation has a significant relationship with nurse productivity and can be implemented as a managerial strategy to improve service quality. This study recommends structured, planned, and continuous job rotation programs to support the enhancement of nursing performance.
