Abstract
Background: Schizophrenia is usually characterized by various psychopathological conditions that are disturbing and involve thinking, feelings, perceptions and behavior. Schizophrenia itself is divided into several types, one of which is hebephrenic schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder characterized by decreased communication, impaired reality, cognitive impairment, and also difficulty in carrying out daily activities. Negative symptoms in schizophrenic patients can cause a decline in social function, causing patients to isolate themselves. Someone with social isolation will usually experience difficulty in communicating and close themselves off from interacting with other individuals and their environment.
Objective: This study aims to find out whether group activity therapy and social isolation SPTK can help patients with schizophrenia and social isolation reduce their symptoms. And also provide nursing care according to patient needs.
Method: In this study, researchers used a case study report method using 1 patient managed with schizophrenia and social isolation. Researchers followed the rules of the nursing assessment process and then accompanied it by providing group activity therapy and Social Isolation SPTK to help reduce symptoms of social isolation.
Results: Group activity therapy and social isolation SPTK are considered effective in helping reduce symptoms of social isolation. Social Isolation SPTK session 1-2 was carried out on the first day and after that the patient was evaluated and was able to proceed to the next SPTK, on the second day the patient was given Social Isolation SPTK session 3-4 while group activity therapy was carried out. Based on the results of the patient's evaluation, it was assessed that he was able to show a reduction in isolation symptoms. social.
Conclusion: Group Activity Therapy and Social Isolation SPTK can be done together and can be applied routinely to help reduce signs of social isolation.
