Abstract
Background: Postpartum depression or postpartum blues is a psychological disorder in mothers with early signs of feeling sad, depressed mood, loss of interest in activities, insomnia, weight loss, feeling guilty to feeling useless accompanied by a decrease in concentration in activities to the point of feelings of wanting to commit suicide or killing the baby Prevention and recovery of postpartum depression can be done by giving thought stopping therapy. This Nurse's Final Scientific Work aims to provide distraction therapy nursing interventions for anxiety nursing problems in postpartum depression patients in.
Methods: The writing of this nurse's final scientific work uses a research design with a case study approach to explore the problem of nursing care for patients with a diagnosis of postpartum depression. The series of nursing care processes in this case study includes assessment, data analysis, nursing intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the study showed that the main diagnosis was anxiety. The intervention given was through stopping therapy 3 days, and exercises carried out 1 time a day (under the supervision of a nurse) with a duration of 5-15 minutes for each session.
Results: After giving therapy for 3 days, it was found that there was a decrease in the EDPS score which was originally at number 20 to a score of 10
Discussion: Anxiety is a major or priority diagnosis. The interventions given to patients are distraction techniques; thought stopping. The implementation that is carried out is by the nursing intervention plan. The evaluation obtained was a decrease in the EDPS score from 20 to a score of 10
