Abstract
This research is undermined by a phenomenon that occurs in Muhammadiyah MTs 1
Malang in everyday life. This study aimsto understand the school's strategy in developing
the spiritual intelligence of the pupils in Muhammadiyah 1 Malang MTs. This research
uses a qualitative approach to the type of case study research. Data collection techniques
used by researchers are observations, interviews and documentation.
The results of the research stated that 1) The strategy carried out by the Muhammadiyah
MTs 1 The poor in developing the spiritual intelligence of his pupils is a) Implementing
the religious programs that should be followed by all the students-scientists of
Muhammadiyah 1 the poor. b) Applying the system of reward and punishment for the
students in each religious program. The result of the strategies carried out by MTs
Muhammadiyah 1 Malang in developing the spiritual intelligence of its pupils is the
existence of good development in the pupils. As timepassed, the pupils were already
aware of the bad things that had to be left out of themselves. Through the usual conduct
of day-to-day activities that relate to religion, the student becomes accustomed to the
discipline of time, has a consciousness to always be polite when interacting with the
teacher or his friends, has an awareness of the obligatory worship. 2) Religious programs
that support the development of the spiritual intelligence of the students are: a) Morning
routine, b) Birohim (Spiritual and Islamic guidance), c) Doha prayer and Jama’ah prayer,
d) Keputrian, e) Tahfidz, f) Diniyah. 3) Obstacles encountered by the Muhammadiyah
MTs 1 Poor in the implementation of religious programs is a) the level of understanding
of each student differently; b) lack of intention or willingness to follow the religious
program, c) the time available in the execution of the shortreligious programme.
