Abstract
Entering the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, the world of education is required to be of higher quality, both in terms of students and teachers. The educational paradigm has changed from Teacher Center Learning (TCL) to Student Center Learning (SCL). One effort to overcome this problem is to improve the learning process through learning innovations, including approaches, models, strategies, methods and media as well as learning techniques, one of which is through lesson study. The analysis method is TBLA (Transcript Based Lesson Analysis). The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of Lesson Study and analyze the TBLA-based science learning process to improve the quality of the science learning process on excretory system material at SMP 8 Malang. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle has stages of planning (plan), implementation (do), and reflection (see). Type of qualitative descriptive research. The source of qualitative data obtained in this research comes from conversations that occur in learning activities, all forms of action, and additional data such as documentation and others in the form of videos or recordings. Data collection techniques include observation and documentation. The research results showed changes or increases in student responses in Cycle I and Cycle II. In the implementation of cycle I, the learning process was dominated by students. It can be seen in the pie chart that the number of students speaking is 56% while the teacher is only 34%. In the implementation of Cycle II, it showed better results, it was dominated by students as much as 56% compared to only 31% by teachers. In cycles I and II both included Student Centered Learning (SCL).
