Abstract
The rise of digital technology has transformed the job market, including the online transportation sector. Gojek offers a flexible work system, allowing drivers to set their own schedules and locations. While this flexibility provides freedom, it also brings challenges such as income instability, pressure to meet targets, and difficulties in maintaining work-life balance. These factors may influence drivers’ job satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the effect of work flexibility on job satisfaction and to examine the roles of work flexibility and work-life balance among Gojek drivers. A quantitative explanatory research design was used with 100 respondents selected through accidental sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Work flexibility has a positive and significant effect on both job satisfaction and work-life balance. Furthermore, work-life balance significantly influences job satisfaction and mediates the relationship between work flexibility and job satisfaction. Work flexibility improves job satisfaction directly and indirectly through enhanced work-life balance. Service providers should consider policies that support drivers’ work-life balance.
