Abstract

Mental health problems in adolescents in Indonesia are most often experienced by 16-24 year olds, where the mental condition is still unstable due to the transition period from adolescence to adulthood. Various social and psychological factors of each individual give birth to different desires and satisfaction in consuming media, especially as an educational role. With so many social media options about mental health, users have an active role in choosing which media to use to meet their needs. The @petualanganmenujusesuatu account through its digital comics focuses on providing information on mental health. The aim of this study is to find out how much the level of motivation and satisfaction of followers, as well as how big the gap in follower satisfaction when consuming @petualanganmenujusesuatu Instagram account. This study applies a quantitative approach of descriptive and exploratory statistical types using an online questionnaire method. The population in this study is @petualanganmenujusesuatu followers aged 18-24 years with 36,300 accounts with a sample of 100 respondents. The results showed that most followers had the appropriate motives for each indicator, while their satisfaction tended to be fulfilled only in the indicators of cognitive, affective, individual integration, and release. So, it can be concluded that there is a gap in satisfaction by followers in consuming @petualanganmenujusesuatu accounts.
