ANALISIS PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER MELALUI KEGIATAN EKSTRAKULIKULER PENCAK SILAT DI SDN GADINGKASRI

This study aims to analyze character building through extracurricular pencak silat activities at SDN Gadingkasri and to describe the character values developed through these activities. The approach used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection methods including interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects include pencak silat coaches and students participating in the extracurricular activities. The data analysis techniques applied consist of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing systematic conclusions. Observations indicate that pencak silat activities are conducted in a structured and routine manner, supervised by professional coaches. These activities create a disciplined yet enjoyable training atmosphere, resulting in high student enthusiasm for participation. Additionally, improvements are observed in students' discipline and motivation to excel, both in sports and social attitudes. Interviews reveal that pencak silat functions not only as physical training but also as a means to instill moral values such as responsibility, cooperation, sportsmanship, and love for national culture. Parents fully support the program as they observe positive changes in their children's behavior, particularly in discipline and learning motivation. Support from the school, including adequate facilities and well-organized schedules, also contributes to the program’s success. Overall, pencak silat as an extracurricular activity proves to be effective in shaping students into individuals with strong character, physical and spiritual health, and achievements in non-academic fields.
