Abstract
Gastritis is a local or widespread inflammation of the gastric mucosa, which develops when the protective mechanisms of the mucosa are compromised by bacteria or other irritants. Coffee is one of the most popular and widely consumed beverages worldwide, including in Indonesia. Consuming coffee can be very sensitive and lead to stomach pain. One of the factors that influence the recurrence of gastritis is coffee consumption. This study aims to examine the relationship between coffee consumption and gastritis. The research method used is quantitative with a descriptive design. This study employs a descriptive correlation approach to determine whether there is a relationship between nurse work stress levels and nurse caring behavior using a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study consists of nursing students at Muhammadiyah University of Malang. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, taken from incidental samples with a total of 42 respondents. The research was conducted by distributing forms to nursing students at Muhammadiyah University of Malang. The instruments used in this study consist of three instruments, utilizing questionnaires as data collection tools. The analysis used is bivariate analysis to examine the relationship between work stress levels and caring behavior among nurses, using Spearman's correlation statistical test. The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents were classified as moderate coffee drinkers, with 38 respondents (88.4%). On the other hand, only 5 respondents (11.6%) were classified as heavy coffee drinkers. This finding indicates that most respondents have a moderate coffee consumption pattern. Additionally, the majority were classified as having gastritis. A total of 26 respondents (60.5%) were reported to have gastritis, while 16 respondents (37.2%) did not experience gastritis. There was also one respondent (2.3%) whose data was unclear or incomplete. However, the analysis results showed that there is no significant relationship between coffee consumption and gastritis.
