Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of financial literacy and impulsive buying behavior on the financial management of Accounting students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Class of 2021 who are Shopee PayLater users. This study uses a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique involving 66 respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire based on the Likert Scale 1-7 and analyzed using multiple linear regression using SPSS 27 software.
The results of the study show that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on students' financial management. Meanwhile, impulsive buying behavior has a negative but insignificant effect. This finding confirms that good financial literacy plays an important role in helping students manage their finances effectively, while the impact of impulsive buying behavior can be minimized through adequate financial understanding.
This study is expected to be a reference for students in increasing their understanding of the importance of financial literacy in order to reduce the negative impacts of impulsive shopping behavior.
