PROBLEMATIKA PELAYANAN SOSIAL DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMANDIRIAN DISABILITAS NETRA DI UPT RSBN MALANG

This research aims to find out: (1) social services that have been provided to visually impaired people to increase independence; and (2) knowing the problems of social services in increasing the independence of children with visual disabilities at the UPT Social Rehabilitation for Blind People in Malang. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. In data collection techniques, the techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. Using data analysis techniques from Sugiyono. The results of this research found (1) social services that have been provided to visually impaired people, namely, social services for socialization and development, rehabilitation services including social protection and services to gain access, information and facilities to the community. (a) social services for socialization and development: these social services help blind people understand, participate and develop socially; (b) rehabilitation services including social protection: these social services are to help individuals recover and overcome their problems; (c) services to gain access, information and facilities to the community: this social service encourages blind people to be active in society; (2) the problems of social services in increasing the independence of children with visual disabilities, with several results, one of which is: (a) challenges in applying skills, (b) a learning process that requires repeated consistency.
