RELASI SOSIAL MASYARAKAT PESISIR DALAM MENINGKATKAN KESEJEHTERAAN NELAYAN DI KABUPATEN PASURUAN (Studi Pada Masyarakat Nelayan di Desa Kalirejo)

Pasuruan Regency has 24 sub-districts and 5 of the 24 sub-districts are located on the coastline. The place of this study was conducted in Kraton District, more precisely in Kalirejo, Pasuruan. The Kraton sub-district is one of the most marine-producing areas in Pasuruan Regency and some of its coastal communities are eyed by catching fish or biota. Based on demo data from BPS (2021) Pasuruan Regency, ± 3,177 residents are engaged in the fisheries sector. Identical coastal communities with relatively very low welfare. Most of the wreckage in the coastal community was severe. Several actions have been taken by villagers to improve the welfare of their fishermen. One of the traditions that have been carried out by the Kalirejo people for many years is the phenomenon of social relations.
This study uses a qualitative approach and descriptive research type. The subjects in this study were the coastal communities, namely fishermen and skipper informants or resource persons. The sample to be used in this research uses a purposive method. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the welfare of fishermen in Kalirejo village when viewed from the material, spiritual and social aspects is included in the middle to lower welfare category. There are various factors that influence one of the very low material aspects. To overcome this, the community forms social relations that can be classified as patron clients with the aim of increasing welfare. It is proven that this relationship can improve the welfare of fishing communities.
