IMPLEMENTASI PROGRAM PARENTING EDUCATION DALAM POLA PENGASUHAN ANAK BERKEBUTUHAN KHUSUS (Studi di UPT. Pusat Layanan Disabilitas Kota Blitar)

The parenting pattern for children with special needs is different from the parenting pattern for children in general in the process of growth and development. Therefore, parents need knowledge of parenting skills regarding parenting patterns through the Parenting Education program. The aim of this research is to describe the implementation and impact of the Parenting Education Program in parenting patterns for children with special needs. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, and research subjects are taken using purposive techniques. The conceptual theory used in this research is the theory of implementation of parenting education programs and parenting patterns for children with special needs. Research data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and research documentation. The results of this research describe the implementation of the parenting education program which consists of 3 stages, namely the preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. There is an impact of the parenting education program on the parenting patterns of children with special needs, including social impacts and psychological impacts. Parents of children with special needs apply a democratic parenting style and children with special needs can be directed and controlled well in terms of their emotions.
