Abstract

Background: Chronic Kidney Disease is a non-infectious disease that is difficult to recover to its original condition because the nephrons are damaged so that they cannot function normally as before. CKD disease is a decrease in kidney function during the monthly to annual period. CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis need family support to support better self-acceptance.
Objective: To identify the relationship between family support and self-acceptance in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis.
Methods: The research methods used in the study were quantitative research and used a correlational analytical design. The subjects in this study are chronic kidney disease patients who undergo hemodialysis as many as 122. sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data collection used 2 family support questionnaires and the Unconditional Self Acceptance Questionnaire (USAQ).
Results: The results of the spearmen correlation test between Family Support and Self-Acceptance in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis obtained a significant value with a value of (0.005). The value shows a value of p<0.005, so it can be concluded that H1 is accepted. This means that there is a weak and non-directional significant relationship between family support and self-acceptance in chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis.
Conclusion: Respondents at UMM Hospital showed that most of them had good family support. Respondents at UMM Hospital showed that most of them had low level of family support. The relationship between family support and self-acceptance of chronic kidney disease patients at UMM Hospital has a weak and non-aligned sign between family support and self-acceptance of chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis.
