HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN KEPATUHAN MINUM OBAT PADA LANSIA HIPERTENSI DI POSYANDU LANSIA BAKALAN KRAJAN KOTA MALANG

Introduction: : Hypertension is often overlooked, especially due to lack of family support, which is important to improve medication adherence, especially in the elderly. Family support can reduce stress, provide motivation, increase adherence, and prevent complications, thus supporting successful disease management and patient quality of life.

Purpose: This study aims to assess the relationship between family support and medication adherence in the elderly with hypertension at the Bakalan Krajan Elderly Health Post, Malang City

Method: This study was conducted in August 2024 at the Bakalan Krajan Elderly Health Post, Malang City RW 4, RW 5, RW 6, RW 7 Bakalan Krajan, Sukun District, Malang City. The quantitative method was chosen and used the MMAS (Morisky Medication Adherence Scale) and PSS-Fa questionnaires and the Spearman correlation test in the elderly population with hypertension. Sampling with total sampling with a total of 70 respondents.

Results: The results of the data analysis showed a P-Value of 0.000 (<0.005) which stated that there was a relationship or reliable results.

Conclusion: The majority of this study found that elderly hypertensive patients received good family support and had a high level of medication adherence. This shows that family support is a factor that makes medication adherence high in elderly patients with hypertension.
