Abstract

Independent curriculum is a type of teaching that emphasizes learning stages that make it easier for students to understand. The urgency of the Pancasila student profile strengthening project activities in elementary schools includes: 1) building noble character, 2) developing student competencies, 3) developing creativity and self-confidence in students, 4) developing a sense of mutual respect. The implementation of the independent curriculum is the embodiment of the Pancasila student profile in advancing the development of students. The Pancasila student profile is called a project to strengthen the Pancasila student profile to support the needs of students in improving the quality of learning. SDN Percobaan 2 Malang carried out P5 activities by implementing the teaching at the right level (TaRL) approach. This study aims to determine: (1) the implementation of the TaRL approach in planning P5 at SDN Percobaan 2 Malang, (2) the implementation of the TaRL approach in implementing P5 at SDN Percobaan 2 Malang, and (3) the implementation of the TaRL approach in evaluating P5 at SDN Percobaan 2 Malang.
This study uses qualitative research and the type of research conducted is descriptive. This study was conducted at SDN Percobaan 2 Malang which focused on class IVA, IVB, IVC, IVD teachers, and students. In its implementation, researchers carry out observation, interview and documentation activities to obtain data. Research data analysis goes through four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of data using two techniques, namely source triangulation and technical triangulation.
The research results obtained showed that class IVA – IVD of SDN Percobaan 2 Malang had implemented the TaRL approach in P5 activities. The theme used at SDN Percobaan 2 Malang is a sustainable lifestyle. All stages in the P5 activity implement the characteristics of the TaRL approach according to the abilities of the students which are linked to the activities in the P5 activity.
