Abstract
Background: Students often experience anxiety due to several factors, such as academic demands, financial pressures, and adaptation to the campus environment. campus environment. High levels of anxiety can lead to poor sleep quality and can impact on students' physical health, cognitive function, and mental health. Previous studies have shown that sustained anxiety leads to poor sleep quality in college students.
Objective: To find out whether anxiety levels affect studens' sleep quality.
Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all active students of class 2023 in the Nursing Science Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Malang using total sampling technique. In this study, researchers used the Zung Self Anxiety Scale (ZSAS) for the anxiety level instrument and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) for the Sleep Quality instrument.
Results: The results of this study data were then analyzed using the Spearman Rank test and obtained a significance value of 0.001 (p <0.05) with a correlation test value of 0.425, which means that there is a relationship between anxiety levels and student sleep quality.
Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a relationship between anxiety levels and the quality of student sleep, which means that the more one's anxiety increases, the worse one's sleep quality.
