Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the cooperative script method in improving Arabic speaking skills among 11th-Grade IPS students at MA Muhammadiyah 1 Plus Malang, as well as to measure its impact on enhancing speaking skills. The research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study consists of 11th-Grade IPS students at MA Muhammadiyah 1 Plus Malang, divided into two groups: a control group and an experimental group. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and tests. The data were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) with validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, and paired sample t-tests to measure the differences in results between the control and experimental groups. The implementation of this method began with an introduction to the cooperative script method, followed by the researcher explaining the material using conventional methods for the control group, and applying the cooperative script method to the experimental group. After the method was implemented, the results from the paired sample statistics showed that the posttest score for the experimental group was 82.66, whereas before the cooperative script method was applied, the score was only 57.33. Based on these findings, the researcher concluded that the cooperative script method has a positive and significant impact on the Arabic speaking skills of 11th-Grade IPS students at MA Muhammadiyah 1 Plus Malang.
