Abstract
The use of the internet and the development of mass media have made it easier for anyone to search for and obtain information through various types of mass media. This convenience has led the public to rely on online media as a primary source of information due to its speed and efficiency in processing and presenting reality. This study describes how online media platforms KapanLagi.com and Suara.com frame news coverage regarding the conflict between Nikita Mirzani and Lolly. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze the framing used by these two media outlets in their news reports. The analysis is conducted using Robert N. Entman’s framing theory (Define Problems, Diagnose Causes, Make Moral Judgment, Treatment Recommendation) by examining three news articles from each media outlet. The findings indicate that KapanLagi.com tends to construct news with a more positive tone, prioritizing the actuality of reality. In contrast, Suara.com presents a more controversial portrayal by commodifying the issue and incorporating additional facts that still correlate with the topic.
