Abstract
This study was conducted to evaluate the usability of the Final Project Management Information System (SIM-TA) at Muhammadiyah University of Malang using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. SIM-TA is a system designed to assist students in the final project process, from registration to graduation. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction levels regarding SIM-TA and to provide improvement recommendations that could enhance the quality of the system’s services. The SUS questionnaire, which consists of 10 items rated on a Likert scale, was distributed to 92 active students as a sample from the total population. The data obtained from the questionnaire were then analyzed using the SUS formula to obtain an average score representing users' perceptions. Additionally, this study interprets the SUS score using the acceptability range, grade scale, and adjective rating categories to provide a comprehensive picture of user experience.
The analysis results show that SIM-TA achieved an average SUS score of 61, which falls into the “Marginal” or “Low Acceptability” category, with a grade scale of "D" and an adjective rating of "OK." This indicates that while SIM-TA is usable, users experience some difficulties and discomfort, particularly with navigation and interface consistency. Based on these findings, the study suggests several improvements, including enhancements in information layout, navigation, and feature usability to increase user experience and satisfaction. SIM-TA still requires further development to meet the usability standards expected by users. The recommended improvements are expected to help developers enhance the system's usability, thereby supporting the final project process for students more effectively and efficiently. This evaluation provides a strong basis for continuous improvements aimed at creating a more responsive system that aligns with user needs.
