Abstract
This study aims to analyze the argumentation skills of high school students through Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions in the context of numeracy literacy skills. The subjects of this study were 6 students from the 10th grade at MA Muhammadiyah 1 Plus Malang, selected based on their numeracy literacy levels (high, medium, low). This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through tests and interviews to assess five aspects of argumentation skills: Data, Claim, Evidence, Reasoning, and Rebuttal. The results showed that students with high numeracy literacy skills were able to fulfill almost all argumentation aspects, except for rebuttal. Students with moderate numeracy literacy skills fulfilled three aspects (Data, Claim, Evidence), while students with low numeracy literacy skills could only meet two aspects (Data, Claim). This research recommends familiarizing HOTS questions in mathematics learning to improve students' argumentation skills and numeracy literacy.
