Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of differentiation learning strategy in improving students' mathematical problem-solving ability. The method used in this study is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of only one experimental class that implemented a differentiation learning strategy without comparison or control classes. The subjects used in this study were students of SMA Muhammadiyah I Babat. Data were collected through mathematical problem-solving ability tests before and after the intervention.
The results showed that there was a significant increase in students' mathematical problem-solving ability in the experimental class. The average posttest score of the experimental class increased significantly, with a p-value <0.05. The analysis also shows that the differentiation learning strategy not only improves students' overall abilities but also allows students with different learning styles to actively participate in learning.
This study concludes that the differentiation learning strategy is effective in improving students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. It suggests that teachers apply this strategy to improve mathematics learning outcomes in the classroom and meet students' diverse learning needs.
