Abstract

Introduction: Schizophrenia is a common mental disorder characterized by disruptions in thinking, emotions, movement, behavior, and perception, such as hallucinations. Hallucinations are defined as disturbances in an individual's sensory perception, where no external stimulus is present. Hallucinations need to be addressed properly as they can pose risks to the safety of the patient, others, and the surrounding environment. Dhikr therapy, when recited correctly, can provide tranquility and relaxation to the heart and help reduce hallucinations. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of dhikr therapy in reducing hallucinations in schizophrenia patients.
Methods: This study uses a case study design on Mr. A, a 47-year-old patient diagnosed with schizophrenia, who was treated in the Melati ward at UPT RSBL. Dhikr therapy was conducted for three consecutive days, lasting 10-20 minutes each session. The SOAP evaluation observation sheet provided by the University of Muhammadiyah Malang Faculty, of Health Sciences and the Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standards (SLKI) was used to observe the patient's condition before and after the intervention in the psychiatric nursing assessment process.
Results: The results of the study showed that after being given SP 1 and SP 2 hallucinations and dhikr therapy, in subjective data the patient said he remembered how to rebuke and take medicine 2x a day. While the objective data showed that the patient could do the rebuke again and the patient could explain the frequency of taking his medicine. Through observations made on the patient, it was found that after being given dhikr therapy for 2 days, hallucination behavior decreased, seeing shadows decreased, hearing voices decreased, withdrawing quite decreased and daydreaming decreased.
Conclusion: Dhikr therapy can be used to help control hallucinations, bring calm and peace to the patient's heart, and divert attention from the hallucinations experienced by the patient, allowing the patient to feel mental tranquility.
