Abstract
The problem faced at SDN Tlekung 02 Batu is that students have difficulty in reading skills, namely combining letters. This is influenced by a lack of interest in learning to read. The school has also made it easier for students who are not fluent in reading, namely by making it a habit that on Wednesday mornings they are given reading guidance exercises, the media used are very simple books so that students are not interested. Therefore, more interesting media is needed to support learning, especially starting reading material. The aim of this research is to determine the development of interesting Word Monopoly in class I Indonesian language learning at SDN Tlekung 02 Batu.
This research uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evalution) research and development model. The research subjects were 15 class I students at SDN Tlekung 02 Batu. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The instrument used in this research is an interview and interview guide. Data analysis techniques use qualitative and quantitative analysis.
The results of Monopoly word media development show that material validation achieved a percentage of 90%, while product validation reached 92.85%. Both results fall into the category of very worthy of being tested without revision. The student response to the Word Monopoly media was 83.33%, while the teacher response was 80%. This shows that the development of Word Monopoly media is able to attract students' attention and make it easier for them to read, especially the material, especially the initial reading material on combining letters. Apart from that, Monopoly word media is also easy to use. This research can be a reference for subsequent research, especially initial reading material or other material.
