ANALISIS ABREVIASI PADA PENAMAAN MATA ACARA TELEVISI DALAM CHANNEL YOUTUBE STASIUN TELEVISI INDONESIA

Abbreviations can occur in Indonesian television station YouTube channels. Abbreviation is the process of cutting off or preserving part or several words to form a new word without changing its meaning. On Indonesian television station YouTube channels, many use abbreviations in writing the television program. Based on this, the purpose of the study is to describe (1) the form or shape of abbreviations found in the naming of television programs on Indonesian television YouTube channels, (2) the pattern of formation of abbreviations found in the naming of television programs on Indonesian television YouTube channels, (3) the function of using abbreviations in the naming of television programs on Indonesian television YouTube channels.
The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data sources and data for this study are words that have undergone an abbreviation process in the naming of television programs on Indonesian television station YouTube channels, namely 58 data. Data collection was carried out by
Steps (1) observation on Indonesian television station YouTube channels, (2) recording, (3) grouping the data obtained. The results of this study show (1) the pattern of abbreviations maintaining the first letter of each component, (2) the pattern of abbreviations maintaining the first letter of each component and the release of conjunctions, (3) the pattern of fragments maintaining some syllables, (4) the pattern of contractions maintaining the first syllable and the first letter of the next component, (5) the pattern of contractions maintaining the letter of each component of the phrase and the retention of the last component, (6) the pattern of contractions maintaining the first syllable of each component, (7) the pattern of contractions maintaining the first syllable of the first component and the retention of the entire word, (8) the pattern of contractions maintaining the first syllable of the component with the release of conjunctions, (9) the pattern of contractions maintaining letters and syllables that are difficult to formulate, (3) the function of abbreviations includes making the use of language more efficient so that words are not too long by maintaining letters or syllables from the phrases formed, writing is not boring and more varied, and brings out variations in the use of language elements in the world of writing.
