Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problems of learning Arabic in students in East Java based on scientific journal articles in the period 2019-2023. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of narrative literature review. The data source used in this study is a scientific journal article with a focus on discussing the problems of learning Arabic in journals accredited by SINTA 2 to 6 with the category of student objects in the East Java region. The process of collecting data by searching for related articles through the SINTA-Science and Technology Index website, and PPJKBA Indonesia. The data analysis technique in this study is a thematic analysis with several steps, such as (a) identifying the existing data, (b) conclude the findings data. The results of this study show that students still experience many problems in learning Arabic such as a lack of interest and motivation, and then difficulty understanding learning. The cause of the problems in the article presented is due to a lack of confidence in students and also less effective learning methods. The solution used is to use more interesting methods and more hands-on practice to increase students' interest, motivation, and understanding in learning Arabic.
