Abstract
Indonesian Horror Film "Vina Before 7 Days" A film with a background of a real case, the murder of a student named Vina in Cirebon Regency, West Java, in 2016. Many teenagers like this film because they think this film is very appropriate to the story of free association of teenagers today. This film invites a lot of controversy from the general public, especially horror film lovers in the country and it turns out that this film adopts a true story from a murder case of Vina as the victim in this story. With the formulation of the problem How is the acceptance by students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang of juvenile delinquency depicted in the film "Vina Before 7 Days". The purpose of this study is to determine the meaning of students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang towards juvenile delinquency depicted in the film "Vina Before 7 Days". This study uses two theories, namely the theory of Stuart Hall, namely the Theory of Audience Reception Analysis with Encoding & Decoding, namely the grouping of audiences in the application of three receptive positions to media messages, and the theory of Melvin De Fleur, namely the Mass Communication Theory about individual differences and the theory of social categories. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative type and basis. The data collection technique uses personal interviews which are then continued with FGD (Focus Group Discussion). The subjects of this study were students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang who were viewers of the film "Vina Sebelum 7 Hari" and had a background of experiencing situations caused by juvenile delinquency. The results of the study on the acceptance of film messages by the subjects are as follows, first, this film is able to convey so many moral messages that can be captured from various perspectives of thinking. The subjects said that this film provides lessons for teenagers out there, so that they can anticipate juvenile delinquency. Second, this film is an education for the subjects about moral messages regarding the dangers of bullying and motorcycle gang culture.
