Abstract

Student-athletes face a double challenge that requires them to excel as athletes and also have good academics as students. The difficulty of facing these double challenges results in student-athletes not being confident in completing their obligations as students. One group of student-athletes who find it difficult to face these challenges is basketball student-athletes. This research aims to see whether academic Self-efficacy with self-directed learning has a positive influence on basketball student-athletes. The research design uses quantitative. The data collection method uses purposive sampling. The research subjects were 270 basketball student-athletes. The measuring instruments used are the academic self-efficacy scale and also the SDLRS. Data analysis tests using simple linear regression show an influence of academic self-efficacy with learning independence which means there is an influence of Academic Self-Efficacy with Self-Directed Learning in basketball student athletes.
