HUBUNGAN FAKTOR CARING DENGAN PERILAKU PROFESSIONAL CARING PERAWAT DI RUANG RAWAT INAP DI RUMAH SAKIT SURYA MEDIKA PKU MUHAMMADIYAH SUMBAWA

Background: Caring is the behavior of nurses in carrying out nursing care with compassion, care, empathy, attention, willingness to listen to complaints felt by patients, maintaining patient privacy, and providing patient motivation in the care process in the health service area. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between caring factors and professional caring behavior of nurses in the inpatient room.
Research Method: This study used a cross-sectional design with a patient population that met the established criteria. The technique used in this study used purposive sampling with 85 respondents through filling out the CFS (Caring Factor Survey) and CPS (Caring Professional Scale) questionnaires for 30 days. The variables studied were caring factors and professional caring behavior of nurses. The data analysis used was the Spearman test.
Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between Caring factors and professional caring behavior of nurses in the inpatient room of Surya Medika PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital. The better the nurse caring factor, the better the professional caring behavior of nurses, as evidenced by the results of the p value of 0.001 <α 0.05. With the strength of the relationship or correlation coefficient (r = 0.367 **) with a positive relationship direction, meaning that the better the results of the caring factors produced, the better the professional caring behavior of nurses towards patients.
Conclusion: The better the caring factors provided by nurses, the better the professional caring behavior received by patients, so that it can create a good perception of the quality of service in the hospital.
