Abstract

This study examines the social interaction patterns of migrant students from Maluku in Malang City. The aim of the research is to understand how these students interact with fellow migrants from other regions, local communities, and fellow Maluku students. The study adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, where data is collected through interviews and observations. The findings show that Maluku students face challenges in adapting to local culture and language, but student organizations and migrant communities provide significant support during this adaptation process. Social interactions occur in academic, organizational, and social contexts, influenced by cultural and linguistic factors. This study contributes to understanding cultural adaptation and social interaction in migrant environments, and offers recommendations for improving mentoring programs for migrant students in Malang City.
