Abstract
This research examines the Japanese and South Korean governments' efforts to address female labour discrimination and the challenges both countries face in achieving gender equality. Although both countries have achieved significant advances in technology and economics, they still experience large gender gaps,
especially in economic participation, wages, and women's access to leadership positions. In this research, the author uses a descriptive research method using a qualitative approach. Descriptive approach by summarising or describing the state
of the object of research at the present time based on the facts that appear or as they are. This study provides an overview of the government's steps in promoting gender equality as part of its commitment to the global agenda of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's), particularly SDG's 5. Using the concept of gender mainstreaming, both countries need to strengthen supervision and law enforcement to ensure that anti-discrimination policies are effectively implemented. Raise public awareness about women's labour rights and the benefits of gender equality through well-planned campaigns. Education and training for employers and workers on their rights and obligations can help reduce discrimination.
