Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability of numeracy literacy in class 1 learning at SDN Pengalaman 1 Malang City. Numeracy literacy is one of the basic competencies that must be mastered from an early age. This shows that in solving math problems that contain elements of numeracy literacy is one of the weaknesses of class 1 students at SDN Pengalaman 1 Malang. Covers the ability to understand, use, and apply mathematical concepts in everyday life.

This study uses a qualitative approach with observation, interview and document methods to collect data. The research subjects consisted of class 1 students and mathematics teachers. The analysis technique is in the form of an average percentage of the numeracy literacy ability indicator.

The results of the study showed that the results of this study were that class I students of SDN Pengalaman 1 were able to solve arithmetic operation problems correctly, but there were also some students who were less careful and did not write the answers correctly and there were students who did not understand and did not write the answers at all. Where out of 28 students, 7 (25%) students were able to answer the questions correctly and 8 (28.57%) students were less correct in answering the questions and 13 (46.42%). For students who were unable to answer the questions correctly, most students had a basic understanding of numbers and simple mathematical operations, but still faced difficulties in applying these concepts in more complex contexts. Teaching methods, learning media, and learning environments have a significant influence on the development of students' numeracy literacy. This study recommends the use of a more interactive and contextual approach in mathematics learning to improve students' numeracy literacy skills.
