Abstract
This study aims to understand how work conflicts affect employee performance at Coffee Shop Dermo, Malang, by looking at the role of the work environment as a variable that mediates the relationship. Fierce competition in the coffee industry drives the need for optimal performance. Conflicts in the workplace can come from unclear division of tasks, differences in goals, and dependence in work activities that can have an impact on decreased productivity. In addition, aspects of the work environment, such as relationships between employees, also play an important role in determining performance. This study uses an explanatory quantitative method by collecting data through questionnaires filled out by 40 employees from six coffee shops. The data was then analyzed using a Structural Equation Model (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS) to measure the influence of conflicts and work environment conditions on performance. The results of this study show that work conflicts and work environments have a significant effect on employee performance. In addition, the work environment can mediate work conflicts against employee performance. This shows that the work environment plays an important role in connecting work conflicts to employee performance.
