Abstract
Character education in elementary schools has become an important issue amid rapid technological development. Students, especially in first grade, are significantly influenced by technology, often resulting in inappropriate vocabulary and behavior. This tendency leads to the erosion of character values, as students tend to imitate what they see in media without deep understanding.
This study uses a qualitative approach and a descriptive research type. Research requires a qualitative approach and descriptive methods, especially the use of data as a source of information to analyze research findings and draw conclusions. A qualitative approach and descriptive method are used to explain the role of teachers in shaping the character of students in the subject of Pancasila education at SD Negeri Kauman 1, Malang City.
The results of the research teachers act as facilitators, motivators, evaluators, mediators, and informants to support the formation of students' character. They facilitate group discussions, encourage collaboration, give appreciation, conduct evaluations, and provide direct examples and relevant information. This role includes the development of a supportive learning environment, the ethical use of technology, and the inculcation of moral and ethical values in students' daily lives. In addition, the success of character education does not only depend on teachers, but also involves all school residents and parents at home. Teachers as role models provide positive energy and become a substitute for parents while at school. Continuous character education keeps up with the times ensures that students not only become intelligent, but also have good character.
