Abstract

This study focuses on efforts to prevent Lost of Follow Up (LFU) behavior in People with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in the Netral Plus Peer Support Group (KDS) in Malang City. LFU is a serious challenge in managing the health of PLWHA, because non-compliance with treatment can worsen their health conditions and increase the risk of HIV transmission. This study used a qualitative method with in-depth interviews and observations of members of the Netral Plus KDS. The results showed that factors such as perceptions of vulnerability, severity, benefits of action, barriers, and self-efficacy play an important role in influencing LFU behavior. Intensive education and psychosocial support from peer groups have proven effective in increasing PLWHA adherence to treatment and preventing LFU behavior. This study provides recommendations to improve the role of KDS as a facilitator in motivating PLWHA to continue following treatment.
