Abstract

This research aims to empirically test the influence that financial, social values, career motivation, job market considerations, parental influence, work environment, and gender have on students' interest in pursuing a career in public accounting. This type of research is quantitative research. The population in this study were 536 active students of the Bachelor of Accounting Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, class of 2021-2023. The sampling technique in this research used Non-Probability Sampling. The number of samples used was 84 students. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire. The data in this study was explained using PLS (Partial Least Square) with the help of the SmartPLS 3.0 program. The results of this research show that financial rewards, job market considerations, work environment, gender have an influence on students' interest in pursuing a career in public accounting. However, social values, career motivation, and parental influence have no influence on students' interest in pursuing a career in public accounting.
