Abstract
In construction projects, especially for high rise buildings, one of the facilities used is a tower crane. This tool is employed to transfer materials from one place to another both vertically and horizontally. Each use of a tower crane in a project incurs significant operational costs, so the planning contractor must analyze the factors that can influence cost overruns or operational hours. The Dr. Saiful Anwar regional general hospital project is one that utilizes a QTZ80(5810) hydraulic self-raising tower crane with a jib length of 60 meters during its construction. It was found that there were indications of cost overruns due to the ineffectiveness of the tower crane's placement and overtime operational costs exceeding the contracted hours. Consequently, a comparative analysis was conducted regarding the existing location, characteristics, capacity, height reach, and operational costs of the tower crane. Based on the analysis results, a time difference of 124.71 hours and a cost difference of IDR 130,351,145 were obtained.
