Abstract
This research discusses the Solo City government using City Branding as a strategy to introduce batik culture in Southeast Asia through the Solo Batik Carnival 2019. Basically, the Solo Batik Carnival is held to promote Indonesian culture, especially that of Solo, to the general public. If viewed through the concept of City Branding, the promotion of batik in the Solo Batik Carnival can make the city of Solo more recognized by the world, especially in Southeast Asian countries. This type of research is descriptive, focusing on explaining what is happening. The research results show that the involvement of foreign countries in the Solo Batik Carnival in 2019 was an effort by the Solo city government to introduce batik culture to the international community. In the Solo Batik Carnival of 2019, foreigners were not just spectators at the event, but also participated as participants in the Solo Batik Carnival of 2019. The conclusion of this research is that the Solo Batik Carnival 2019 is a strategic effort in city branding for the city of Solo in introducing batik in southeast Asia.
