Abstract

CV. Bintang Bersinar, known as Baboon T-shirt, is a garment company that often faces defect problems in the production process. To identify factors causing defects and analyze quality control, a Six Sigma approach was applied, followed by proposed improvements through FMEA control based on the most common types of defects. The analysis results showed that the percentage of defective products exceeded 3%, exceeding the company's tolerance limit set at 2% per month. The five types of defects identified include stitching defects, screen printing defects,
zipper and button defects, material defects, and tear defects. Stitching defects were the most significant, reaching 40% with a total of 656 products. Improvement recommendations to reduce defects include implementing stricter standard operating procedures (SOPs), regular machine maintenance, and ensuring the final product meets the expected quality standards.
