Abstract
This study aims to determine the application of Mondly Arabic application and the improvement of Arabic vocabulary mastery of 8th grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. The research method used in this research is quantitative method with the type of pre-experiment research design of one-group pretest and posttest method. The sample used in this study amounted to 36 students from class VIII of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. Data collection methods in this study were observation, tests and interviews. The data analysis used includes validity test, reliability test, normality test, paired sample T-test and effectiveness test. The process of applying the Mondly Arabic application can be accessed on students' cellphones and students are asked to do the exercises contained in the application then the researcher provides a re-explanation related to the material. There is a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores indicated by the average pretest score of 58.06 and posttest 92.22. Supported by the effectiveness test based on the N-Gain formula with an effective category of 79.39% greater than 76%. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, it can be concluded that the application of the Mondly Arabic application can improve the mastery of Arabic vocabulary of 8th grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Malang with the category "effective".
